Second Lieutenant James J. Sterzinger, son of Mrs. Morris M. Sterzinger, R.R. 1,
Colby, has been awarded silver wings at Vance AFB, Oklahoma, upon graduation
from the U.S. Air Force pilot training.
Lieutenant Sterzinger will remain at Vance for duty as an instructor pilot with
the unit of the Air Training Command which provides flying, technical and basic
military training for U.S. Air Force personnel.
The 1966 graduate of Colby High School received his B.S. degree in Physical
Education in 1971 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and was
commissioned there through the Reserve Officers Training Corps program.
His wife, Mary, is the daughter of Heber C. Johnson, 307 E. Third Street,
Marshfield, Wisconsin.
