Rupnow, Nellie M. (5 May 1905 – 23 March 1978)
Funeral services were to be held Wednesday, April 5, for Mrs. Fred (Nellie M.)
Rupnow, 72, who passed away last Thursday at Memorial Hospital following a brief
illness. She was born May 5, 1905, in the Town of Mentor to George and Nina Hall
Squires. After marrying Frederick C. Rupnow, April 12, 1952, the couple lived
most of their lives in the Humbird area where they farmed. They also lived
several years in Neillsville.
Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Dorothy) Amport of Corvallis,
Ore., Mrs. John (Irma) Lancaster, San Pablo, Calif.;, Mrs. Lloyd (Delores)
Johnson of Neillsville and Mrs. Clarence (Phyllis) Burchell, Melbourne, Fla.,
and two sons, Charles and Melvin, both of Humbird; also, four sisters, Mrs.
Walter (Mabel) Aumann of Neillsville, Mrs. Edward (Nina) Johnson of Marshfield,
Mrs. George (Margaret) Luebke of St. Francis and Mrs. Evan (Alice) Walters of
Friendship, and one brother, Raymond Squires, Franklin. Joining them are
thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, one sisters and two
grandchildren.
Services were to be held at 1:30 p.m. from the United Church of Christ, Humbird,
with burial in the Town of Mentor Cemetery. The Revs. Gary Clark and Alvin Ebert
were to officiate. She was a member of the Humbird United Church of Christ.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home of
Neillsville.
