Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Golden – 16 April 1978)
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the
Legion Hall in Neillsville, Saturday, with an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. and a
dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Their original attendants Archie Schultz and Mrs.
Walter (Peggy) Schultz, a sister, were present.
Mrs. Miller wore a figured jacket dress. Her corsage consisted of three burnt
orange roses, surrounded by yellow daises and gold ribbon. Mr. Miller wore a
dark suit and a burnt orange rose boutonniere.
Albert Miller and Mildred (King) Miller were married by the Rev. Lambert April
12, 1928. A wedding cake, which included a water fall was topped by a decoration
made of white lace, gold net and white bells against a background of a golden
“50”, surrounded by more white lace, pearls and flowers The Rev. and Mrs.
William Noble gave the invocation.
Albert Miller was born in Whitewater in 1902 and attended school at St. Mary’s
in Neillsville. Mrs. Mildred (King) Miller was born in Merrill and attended
schools in Neillsville. She went to a country school, the North Side and High
School. Both have lived in this area all of their life. The Millers reside on
Route 3. Both still have good health. Mr. (Pete) Miller widely known as ‘Pete’
hauled milk for 16 years. He is retired and raises beef cattle. He is supervisor
for the Town of Seif. Mrs. Miller worked at Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide,
besides taking care of their son Donald, who is in a wheel chair. also likes to
knit and take care of flowers.
They have nine children, One is deceased. They are Mrs. John (Deloris) Genteman,
Marshfield, Donald D. Miller at home, Albert L. Miller, Jr., Cincinnati, Oh.,
Duane R. Miller, Marshfield; Mrs. Walter (Barbara) Oldham, Mrs. Jesse (Patricia)
Hagen, Mrs. Lewis (Judy) Grap, and Mrs. Kasimer (Sandra) Kolano, all of
Neillsville. Also, 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
And a very, very long list of attendees including names such as the family
members and Reise, King, Knutson, Shaughness, Shaw, Gehrmann, Theder, Gehrmann,
Hartman, Mathews, Buchholz, Stevens, Shofer, Francis, Krueger, Wolfe, Shultz,
Krogerson, Stricker, Sperbeck, Brock, Lloyd, Abrahamson, Fees, Zank, and
Zimmerman from many different Wisconsin areas and adjoining states.
