Cormican, Gladys Viola (29 September 1894 – 14 April 1978)

Gladys Viola Cormican, age 83, died April 14, at the Family Heritage Home, Black River Falls, after a short illness. She had been a resident there for two months.

She was born to James and Berdine Kimball on September 29, 1894, in Black River Falls. She was married to Richard Sanford Jinkerson, who preceded her in death in 1942. They had two sons, Virgil of Humbird, and Clarence of Fairchild, one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Edna) Cooper, Merrillan. She later married John Cormican who also preceded her in death in 1960.

She is survived by two sons, and one daughter mentioned above, one brother Jack Kimball, Black River Falls, and five sisters, Mrs. Fred Cooper, Beloit, Mrs. Harry Cooper, Merrillan, Mrs. Ray Cooper of Miles City, Mt., Mrs. Sam Shoemaker of Ismay, Mt., and Mrs. Alvin Gearing of Roberts, Mt., six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cormican was a member of the United Methodist Church and the women’s WSCS of Merrillan.

Services were held Sunday afternoon at the United Methodist Church in Merrillan with Rev. Calvin Carey and the Rev. Jack Jinkerson of Hilton Road Baptist Church of Ferndale, Mi., officiating. The Jensen Funeral Home of Hixton was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the East Lawn Cemetery in Alma Center. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Norman Sequin, Jack Boulin, Jerry Cooper, Duane Jinkerson, Jack Jinkerson and Richard Jinkerson.

Some of the away relatives attending were Mr./Mrs. Jack Jinkerson and sons, Royal Oaks, Mi.; Mr./Mrs. Norman Sequin and sons, Waukesha, Mr./Mrs. Jack Boulin, Fairchild; Mr./Mrs. Jerry Cooper and son, Mr./Mrs. Douglas Cooper and Donna, Mr./Mrs. Junior Cooper, and Mrs. Gary Cooper, all of Beloit; Mr./Mrs. Harry Jinkerson and daughter, Mr./Mrs. Ronald Freiberg, Nekoosa; Mr./Mrs. Robert Cooper, Sparta; Mr./Mrs. Frank Walton, Hixton; Mr./Mrs. Robert Kimball, Black River Falls; and Mr./Mrs. Arthur Cooper, Warrens.
