Braun, Bertha (7 Oct 1907 – 21 Mar 1972)
Mrs. Carl Braun, 64, Dorchester, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield
Tuesday, March 21, 1972 at 4 p.m. after being a patient there for several weeks.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Salem United Methodist
Church at Dorchester, with Rev. Henry Bahrenberg officiating. Burial was in
Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Maurina Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers
were: Gerald Tauchen, George Rau, Andrew Leach, Daniel Wigstadt, Robert Braun
and Ronald Hoffman.
The former Bertha Wigstadt was born October 7, 1907 in the Town of Mayville. She
received her education in the rural school in that area. On October 24, 1928 she
was married to Carl Braun at her home. They farmed in the Town of Mayville for
the past 43 years.
She was a member of the Dorchester chapter of the Royal Neighbors of America,
and of the Women’s Society for Christian Service.
She is survived by her husband, Carl; one son, Albert Braun, who teaches in a
high school in Wiesbaden, Germany; two grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Mabel
Miolund, Withee. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.
