Funeral services were held Saturday for Alfred E. Morneau, 66, who was

Mr. Morneau worked in the Rice Lake area as a cheesemaker for several years and
then moved to Neillsville where he assisted Walter Rueber, again as a
cheesemaker. He later worked at the Neillsville Milk Products Plant and then at
Nelson Filter until his retirement in 1977. Morneau married Ann Stefl on
September 3, 1946, in Rice Lake.
Surviving Morneau are his wife; two sons, Richard of Minneapolis and Ronald of
Marshfield; one daughter, Margaret, Neillsville; five sisters, Mrs. Michael
(Lorraine) Shirek and Mrs. Rita Jillek, both of Rice Lake, Mrs. Clarence

(Marie) Olstrom of Minneapolis, Mn., and four brothers, Raymond of Rice Lake,
Joseph of Prairie Farm, Edward of Dallas and Frank of St. Paul, Mn.; and four
grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, Jerome, who was one of the
first Clark County youth killed in Vietnam and one sister, Violet.
Services were held Saturday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the
Rev. Joseph Henseler officiating. Burial was made in the church’s cemetery.
Morneau was a member of St. Mary’s Parish, the Haugen-Richmond American Legion
Post and the Neillsville VFW.
