Anna Augusta Rienow of Colby died at the Medford Memorial Hospital at age 90.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David
Pankow officiating. Burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Lulloff
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Born in Germany in 1881, she came to the U.S. with her parents as a young child
and lived at Lake Mills until 1904. She married Fred Rienow in 1916 in Spencer,
and he died in 1943. Mrs. Reinow lived in this area since her marriage and in
Colby since 1937. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Zion
Sewing Circle.
Survivors include a son, William Baker of Medford, and a daughter, Mrs. Junior
(Doris) Tesmer, Colby; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister,
Mrs. George (Louise) Schwantes of Spencer.
A daughter, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Colby for
Mrs. Fred (Anna) Rienow of Colby, who died Friday at Memorial Hospital, Medford.
Pastor D. T. Pankow officiated and burial was made in the Colby Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Donald Schwantes, John Schwantes, Ted Wellnitz, Roy Wellnitz,
Don Wellnitz and Raymond Kind, all nephews of Mrs. Rienow.
The Zion Lutheran School choir sang “The Lord is My Shepherd” and the
congregation sand “Be Still, My Soul.” Miss Debra Pankow was the organist.
