Gridel, Walter H. (30 Mar 1899 – 19 Apr 1972)

Walter Henry Gridel, Abbotsford, died April 19, 1972 of a heart condition at age 73. Funeral services were held April 22 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford, with the Reverend Emil Hodnik conducting. Burial was in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. The Polnaszek Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gridel was born March 30, 1899. He received his education in the Dorchester schools. He was a single man and farmed in the Town of Holton until his retirement in 1962, when he came to Abbotsford. He resided with his sister, Miss Lucille Gridel.

He is survived by three sisters, Miss Lucille Gridel, Abbotsford, Mrs. Arnold (Caroline) Steinwand, Colby, and Mrs. Marie Petrick.

Three sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were Bill Jantsch, George Jantsch, Howard Bedroske, John Neidhold, Joe Helfert, and George Heibl.
