Rhoades, Sandra Lee (22 April 1978)
The Neillsville United Church of Christ served as the site for the marriage of
Sandra Lee Rhoades to David Bair Bardo, at 5:00 p.m., April 22. Sandra, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rhoades, rural Neillsville, and David, the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Bardo, Muncy, Penn., were joined in a double ring
ceremony performed by the Rev. Gary Clark, pastor of the church.
The bride who was given away by her father, was attired in a Victorian style
lace gown with a mantilla veil and carried white roses and trailing ivy.
Serving as matron of honor was Laura Chubb, wearing a pink, blue and burgundy
print dress with white trim. She carried a nosegay of pink daisies and white
carnations, adorned with burgundy streamers. Laura was joined by similarly
attired bridesmaids, Shari and Shelly Rhoades, sisters of the bride.
Serving as bestman was Ron Grinnell while Doug Zaleski and Bruce Rayhorn were
ushers. The prelude music and the wedding march were played by Deon Spangler.
The church was adorned in pink, white and yellow daisies and carnations,
including a decorated altar and candelabra.
The reception for 130 guests was held at the Bali Hai Supper Club, rural
Neillsville.
The bride is a 1975 graduate of Neillsville High School and attended Luther
College, Decorah, Iowa, for two years. The groom is a graduate of Muncy High
School in 1969, attended Bucknell University and graduated from UW-Superior in
1975. He is employed as a teacher in the Granton Public Schools. The couple will
reside at Rt. 2 Granton. A honeymoon to the east coast is planned after the
termination of the school year.
