UW-Eau Claire (Grads - 1978)

Commencement ceremonies for the largest graduating class in UW-Eau Claire history will be held this coming Saturday, May 20, in the university’s arena. Included in that group are three area students.

A total of 1,015 students will be receiving degrees with graduates in the arts, sciences and business areas getting their sheepskins in a morning commencement, while those graduating in education, nursing and in graduate studies taking their diplomas in afternoon matriculation.

Among the area students graduating are Bernie Jordahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Jordahl, Rt. 2 Neillsville. In the graduate school, Bernie will receive a master’s in business administration with a 3.83 grade-point average. A member of Phi Kappa Phi, a scholastic fraternity, Bernie hopes for employment in a management position of a large company.

Joseph Kempen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kempen, Kaukauna, is also receiving a master’s in business administration and while in school was active in Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Kappa Lambda.

Robert Reil, Rt. 2 Granton, will receive a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and is graduating cum laude. He hopes to fill a teaching position in the Neillsville or Granton area.
