Rand, Peter A. (28 December 1887 – 7 May 1978)

With burial in the Yolo Cemetery, Chili, funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Peter A. Rand, 90, who passed away Sunday, May 7, at the Neillsville Memorial Home. Rand was born December 28, 1887, in Denmark, where he received his early education. He emigrated to the United States at 18 years of age, residing in Illinois. He attended Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana, and then worked in the Chicago area and later farmed in Illinois. He married Mabel Bayer, August 25, 1915, in Illinois. In 1923, Rand moved to Wisconsin to farm in the Chili area until 1947. He returned to Chicago at that time where he worked for several years, finally moving to Neillsville about 20 years ago.

Surviving Rand are his wife, Mabel, two daughters, Mrs. Steven (Laura) Kapicak and Mrs. Harriet Ricci, both of Northbrook, Illinois, one son, Milton of Chili; twelve grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two brothers and two sisters.

Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville was the site for the funeral services with the Rev. Ronald Nordin officiating.
