Cliver, Cindy (12 September 1962 - 1978)
A rural Chili girl and an Auburndale man apparently bent on some time alone
together, Friday evening, became dual carbon monoxide fatalities.
The couple was found in their parked auto, 1 1/2 miles southwest of Chili, along
a quiet and deserted section of a township road.
Dead was Cindy K. Cliver, 15, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Cliver, Rt. 1
Chili, and Gorden Hoefs, Jr, 19, Rt. 1 Auburndale.
Marlyn Lindow, Rt. 1 Chili, found the car with the victims in it and reported it
to authorities.
(Coroner Robert) Lulloff stated that the girl carried no identification and
officers had a difficult time identifying the body. It was believed that her
identity was gained through contacts supplied by Hoefs’ billfold and auto
registration.
St. Stephens Catholic Church was the funeral site for Cindy Cliver, Tuesday
morning, with the Rev. Lawrence B. Berger officiating. Burial was made in the
Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
Born September 12, 1962, in Marshfield, Cindy attended Nasonville Grade School
and was a freshman at Marshfield Junior High school.
Surviving her, are her parents; two brothers, Randy and Robert. (balance of the
obituary was cut off.)
