Thompson, Charles (1898? – 8 May 1972)
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 11, 1972 in Madison for Charles J.
Thompson, 73, Abbotsford, formerly of Madison, who died Monday morning, May 8,
1972 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, after suffering a stroke at his home.
Born in Lisbon, North Dakota, Mr. Thompson lived in Madison for many years
before moving to Abbotsford 15 year ago. He worked in the computing department
at Forest Products Laboratory.
In 1921, Mr. Thompson married Helen Schultz. He was a World War I Veteran.
Survivors, besides his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Holtz, Abbotsford;
a son, Charles, Abbotsford; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Eikenberry, LaMoure, N.D.;
Mrs. Jessie Darling, Woodburn, Oregon, and a brother, Bert, Enderlin, N.D. Eight
grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Thompson was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
