Ludwig, William H. (12 Sep 1913 – 18 May 1972)

Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church at Dorchester for William H. Ludwig, 58, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital Thursday at 6:20 p.m. The Rev. Gerald Schuh conducted the services and burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Duane Ludwig, Orman Underwood, Norbert Geiger, Marvin Riemer, Art Ludwig and Otto Olson. Maurina Funeral Home was in charge.

William Ludwig was born September 12, 1913 in the Town of Little Black, Taylor County. He received his education in the Lawndale School there. He was married April 13, 1937 to Elda Riemer at Stetsonville. They have lived in Dorchester the past 32 years. He had been employed at Pathfinder Mobile Home at Spencer since 1960, until illness forced his retirement about a year ago. He was a member of St. Louis Church and an honorary member of the Dorchester Fire Department, in which he served 25 years.

He is survived by his wife; seven sons, Gerald, Indianapolis, Indiana, Ronald, Marathon, Gordon, Loren and Terrance, West Bend, Lace and Greg at home; one daughter, Mrs. James (Carol) Peissig, Oswego, Kansas, and 16 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Louis Ludwig, Stetsonville, and Fred, Dorchester, and one sister, Mrs. Nick (Hattie) Schumacher, also of Dorchester.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
