Votava, Albina (3 March 1897 – 26 May 1978)
Survived by two sons, five daughters, 37 grandchildren, Mrs. Albina Votava, 81,
a former Neillsville are resident, was buried in Neillsville on Tuesday.
Mrs. Votava, who resided with a daughter in Plymouth since the death of her
husband, James, in 1961, passed away at a Plymouth health care facility on May
26. She had been a patient for ten days.
The former Alvina Dvorak was born March 3, 1897, in Veseyville, N.D., the
daughter of John and Anna Humpal. She also received her early education in that
area. On September 30, 1918, she married James Votava at Veseyville. The couple
lived there until 1937 when they moved to Wisconsin, settling on a farm south of
Neillsville. Upon the death of her husband, she resided with a daugher and
son-in-law, Harriet and Gilbert Behr, in Plymouth. Albina was a member of St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.
She is survived by two sons, James of Owen and Vivian of Neillsville, five
daughters, Mrs. Albert (Verna) Risch of Athens, Harriet of Plymouth, Mrs. Jack (Viviana)
Roberts of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Virginia Zugich of Sturtevant and Mrs. Marvin
(Anna Faye) Aumann of Neillsville, 37 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband, were seven brothers and four
sisters.
A funeral Mass was held Monday evening from the Plymouth church, officiated by
the Rev. Martin Simon. A Tuesday mass was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Neillsville with the Rev. Joseph Henseler officiating. Burial was made in the
St. Mary’s Cemetery with a memorial established in her name.
