Harder, Judy A. (5 May 1949 – 6 July 2021)
Judy A. Harder, 72, of Auburndale, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at
House of the Dove in Marshfield under the care of Compassus Hospice.
To honor Judy’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.
Judy was born on May 5, 1949, in Medford; the daughter of Chester and Clare (Riehle)
Pernsteiner. She grew up in Loyal and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School and
graduated from Loyal High School. She went on to obtain her associate degree
from UW-Wood County; her bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater and her master’s
degree from UW-Madison and was employed as a social worker at the Colonial
Center Nursing Home in Colby. She resided in New York, California, and Nevada
before locating back to Wisconsin.
On August 4, 1973, she was united in marriage to Terry V. Harder in St.
Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. Sadly, he passed away on July 4, 1980. She
later married Stacy R. Kallenbach on October 31, 1986, at a resort in Peshtigo.
He passed away on July 4, 1988.
Judy had many hobbies including trying her luck at the casino and traveling. She
also enjoyed going to family gatherings, singing, and reading a good book.
She is survived with love by her daughter, Kelly (Doug) Bauer of Auburndale; her
sons, Tony (Dana) Harder of Woodinville, WA, and Josh Harder (partner Jeff
Armstrong) of Fitchburg and her grandchildren, Morgan (Tony) Hintz, Marisa,
Alec, and Ian. She is further survived by her mother, Clare Pernsteiner of Loyal
and her siblings: John (Karlene) Pernsteiner of Menomonee, Joann (Bob) Froeba of
Stratford, Jeff (Alice) Pernsteiner of Loyal, Jeanine (Dallas) Nelson of Loyal,
Jesse (Dawn) Pernsteiner of Turlock, CA, Janell Pernsteiner of Eau Claire, Jack
(Tammi) Pernsteiner of Arpin and Jill (Pat) Viergutz of Holcombe along with many
other relatives and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Chester Pernsteiner; her first
husband, Terry Harder; her second husband, Stacy Kallenbach and two brothers,
Jay, and Jerry Pernsteiner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are being accepted by the family for a charity to
be determined.
Judy’s arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
