After a two-week honeymoon in the western U.S., the new Mr. and Mrs. Steve Short
will make their home in rural Neillsville. The couple were married in
ceremonies, Friday, May 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, with the
Rev. Joseph Henseler officiating at the 7:30 p.m. service.
United were Carol Jean Turczyn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Turczyn, Rt.
2 Neillsville, and Steven Allen Short, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Short, Rt.
1 Neillsville.
The bride, wearing a long ivory dress with train and a waist length lace veil
and carrying peach-colored roses with small white mums with baby’s breath, was
given away by her father.
With music furnished by Virginia Gassen on the organ and Mrs. Gene Ross and Mrs.
William Kuchenbecker singing, the bride was joined by Ann Short, Neillsville, as
maid of honor. Joining in the bride’s party was Mrs. Michael Poziombke, Rt. 1
Neillsville.
Attending the groom was Jim Turczyn, Rt. 2 Neillsville, as bestman. He was
joined by Michael Poziombke. Ushers were Thomas Short and Richard Lawson.
The bride is a 1973 graduate of Neillsville High School and graduated from
District One Technical Institute, Eau Claire, as a licensed practical nurse. She
is continuing her education and is presently attending St. Joseph’s School of
Nursing in Marshfield, where she is a senior. The groom graduated from
Neillsville High School in 1973 and is a dairy farmer.
