Shatwell, Doreen Jo (25 Nov 1948 – 3 Jul 2021)
Doreen Jo Shatwell, 72, of Lublin Wisconsin, passed away July 3, 2021 at St.
Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield WI. She was born on November 25 of 1948 in the
Town of Taft to Joseph and Marie (Ehlert) Kulesa.
She grew up in the area and attended Gilman High School. She then moved to
Chicago, where she worked and later moved to California, and then Arkansas,
where she was then united in marriage to Mac Shatwell, They lived in Arkansas
for seven years before moving back to the Gilman area in 1982, where they
resided since. Doreen worked at various jobs, and retired from Tombstone in the
Accounts Payable department.
She had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren and her cats.
She also enjoyed going to the movies, computer games and crossword puzzles, and
spending time with the family. Doreen was always there for anyone in her family
that needed her, and those that weren't family were treated like they were. She
will truly be missed.
She is survived by two sons: Jeff (Kathy) of Medford and Joey (Kimberly) of
Dorchester WI; Six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and many cousins,
nephews and nieces. Doreen is also survived by her siblings Gina (Don) Beauchene
of Richmond, CA; Chris (Leon) Peetz of Gilman; Darrell Kulesa of Chippewa Falls,
Naomi (Bob) Warner of Westboro WI; and Ron Kulesa of Gilman. She was preceded in
death by her parents, sister in law Diane, and her husband Mac in 2008.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, July 10th at the Gilman
Funeral home in Gilman WI with Darrel Diers officiating. Burial will be
following afterwards in the Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman. Visitation will be
from 9:00am to 11:00am before the service. A luncheon will be held at the Gilman
Senior Center after the burial.
