Wiener, Shirley (29 September 1940 – 12 June 1978)
Passing away after a brief illness, Monday, June 12, at St. Mary’s Medical
Center in Racine was Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Wiener, 37, Burlington. Funeral
services were to be held this Thursday in Neillsville from the Georgas-Gesche
Funeral Home.
Shirley Wiener was born September 29, 1940, in Neillsville, to Edward “Ted” and
Irma (Buker) Kuester. At the time of her death, she was employed as a nurse’ aid
at Southern Wisconsin Center in Union Grove. Shirley was a member of the
Wisconsin State Employees Union Local 892.
Surviving her is her husband, three daughters, Charlene of West Bend, Mrs. Bryan
(Debbie) Haight of Wichita, Ks., and Valerie at home; and one son, Robert at
home. Joining the survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Maxine) Rasmussen of
Des Moines, Ia., Mrs. Bruce (Barbara) Opelt and Mrs. Walter (Jeannette) Quicker,
both of Neillsville; one brother, Henry “Buddy” Kuester, Neillsville; and
mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wiener, Franklin.
Funeral services were to be held at 3:00 p.m. from the funeral home, with the
Rev. Gary Clark of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiating and
burial was to be made in the West Side Cemetery, Greenwood.
