Helm, Mr. and Mrs. Henry (45th - 1968)
Among visitors at the Louis Helm home over the weekend were: Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Helm and family, Parchment, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Helm and family,
Cedarburg; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gemrich and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gemrich,
Milwaukee; Rev. and Mrs. Alfred Wolkenhauer and family, Burnett; and Dr. and
Mrs. Hugo Ross, Sun Prairie. They attended the 45th wedding anniversary
celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm at Zion Lutheran Church Sunday.
Approximately 100 guests, including relatives and friends, attended the Garbisch-Helm
reunion held Sunday. Dinner was served in the Zion Lutheran Church parlors, with
guests going later to the Henry Helm home to help them celebrate their 45th
wedding anniversary.

Helm, Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Golden - 30 June 1973)
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm of Granton will observe their golden wedding anniversary
Saturday, June 30, with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church.
The Helms were married on that same date 50 years earlier, at the same church by
the Rev. Martin Hasz. Both are members of Zion.
Henry Helm was born October 20, 1897, in the Town of Lynn and attended District
No. 1 School there. Mrs. Helm, the former Clara Garbisch also has an October
birthdate, having been born on the seventh of that month in 1898. She attended
the Wild Rose School in the Town of Grant. In 1924 the couple rented a farm from
Margaret Foemmel and lived there for three years. Then they bought the former
William Kelpin farm in the Town of Grant in 1927 and farmed on the property for
40 years before moving to the village of Granton.
Mr. Helm was elected to the office of Grant Town clerk in 1935 and held that
post for 18 years. He served on the ASC town committee for 21 years and on the
county committee for one year and served as president of Zion Lutheran Church
for 16 years and as an elder for two years.
Mrs. Helm has been a member of the Zion Ladies Aid for 40 years. She is active
in doing domestic work and sewing and enjoys her flower garden.
The Helms are parents of a daughter, Mrs. Sammy (Elaine) Seefeldt of Melrose and
two sons, Donald Helm of Marion and Roger Helm who operates the home farm on Rt.
2 Granton. There are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Approximately 250 persons attended the Golden wedding anniversary open house
Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church honoring Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm.
Friends and relatives present from out-of-town included the Rev. and Mrs. Alfred
Walkenhauer of Burnett, Dr. and Mrs. Hugo Ross of Sun Prairie, Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Kolka and Mr. and Mrs. George Guenther of Eau Claire, Lester Genrich of
Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Garbisch of La Crosse, Mr. and Mrs. Randall
Seefeldt and daughter, Kris, of San Diego, Ca., Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Foemmel of
Sacramento, Ca., Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Prange of Libertyville, Il., Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Thur and Mrs. Adelia Janke of Fairchild, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Garbisch of
Arpin, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Helm and Mrs. Lillian Helm of Brillion, Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Helm and family of Kalamazoo, Mi., Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Helm and family
of Cedarburg, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lutz of Amherst Junction, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis
Anderson of McFarland, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Speidel and Luane of Waupun, Mr. and
Mrs. Marvin Wenck of Woodstock, Il., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnson of Fall Creek,
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Haines of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ortwin Schimmel of
Duluth, Mn., Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Larsen of Westfield and Mrs. Sammy Schroeder of
Racine.
All six of the Helm’s attendants are still living and five of them attended the
anniversary observance. They included: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Helm, Dan Garbisch and
Edward Garbisch of Granton and Mrs. Alfred Walkenhauer of Burnett. The sixth
member of the bridal party was Mrs. Arthur Olson of Fond du Lac.
The Helms’ three children and their families were also present for the
observance.

Helm, Mr. and Mrs. (55th - 1978)
Mr. and Mrs. Helm celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last week at their
daughter and son-in-law’s, Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Seefeldt, Melrose. Also attending
were Mr. and Mrs. Randall Seefeldt, Melrose; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Helm and family;
and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kolka, Donald and Heather, Eau Claire. They were married
in the Zion Lutheran Church of which they still attend. The have three children
including Roger, who bought the home farm west of town: Elaine Seefeldt, Melrose
and Donald at home.
