Noble, Rev. and Mrs. William A. (Silver – 11 July 1978)

The Rev. and Mrs. William A. Noble celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 8, at the United Methodist Fellowship Hall, Neillsville, with an open house being held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The couple was married July 11, 1953, at the Norwalk Methodist Church, Norwalk, Conn., by the Rev. W. Wesley Williams. Their attendants from Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, were unable to be present for the celebration.

The pastor wore a blue, three-piece suit with a peach color boutonniere. His wife, Cora, wore a sleeveless peach dress with a peach and yellow corsage. The couple had a three-tier cake decorated with yellow roses and topped with a silver 25-year ornament. The cake was made by Frieda Collier.

Music for the occasion was provided by Mary Chase and Grace Vilimofsky, who sang “Grandma’s Feather Bed,” “My God and I,” “Hawaiian Love Song,” and The Lord’s Prayer.” Everyone joined in singing “Let Me Call you Sweetheart.”

Many friends, relatives and church members were present or sent their greetings for the celebration.

William Noble was born in New York and attended Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., and Drew Seminary in Madison, N.J. Cora is from Connecticut and attended UW-St. Point. The couple reside at 205 West Fourth St.

William’s hobbies include antiques, especially cars. Cora also enjoys antiques, as well as singing and being a student studying for the ministry.

They have three children, William and Steve, both of Neillsville, and Rick, Minneapolis. They also have one grandson, Christopher J. Noble, Sturtevant.

All of the United Methodist Women helped to organize and sponsor the celebration.
