Stockmeyer, Ernst (2 Apr 1881 – 10 Jun 1972)
Ernst Stockmeyer, 91, formerly of Curtiss, died early Saturday morning at the
Colonial Nursing Home in Colby, where he had resided for the past seven months.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the First United Church of Christ in Colby
with the Rev. Kenneth Dix conducting. Burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Stockmeyer was born at Newton, Wis. on April 2, 1881. He married Josephine
Mosser in Milwaukee in 1910, and the couple lived in Milwaukee until 1912. They
moved to a farm near Curtiss, which they operated until the fall of 1956.
His wife preceded him in death in 1956, and at that time Mr. Stockmeyer made his
home with his children. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Clarence of La Crosse; two daughters, Mrs. Justin
(Elsie) Gray of Colby and Mrs. Adolph (Edna) Bartell, Milwaukee; four
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Frederick W. Stockmeier, an old resident of Newton, died Tuesday, aged 82 years. The deceased was born in Germany and came to this country with his parents in 1848, the family locating in this town.
He is survived by four sons and two daughters. They are, Frederick on the old homestead, Lena Stockmeier at Colby, Wis., William Stockmeier at Valders, Ernest at Curtiss, Wis., and Mrs. Henrietta Wicke, in the Town of Rapids.
The funeral will be held at the reformed church in Centerville on Saturday afternoon, Rev. Funk officiating.
