The high school band, directed by Martin Schultz, played selections Friday
afternoon in downtown Abbotsford honoring several persons who have retired. They
include Mr. and Mrs. Mel Atzen, who have sold the Coffee Shop to Jack Nikolay.
The new manager of the establishment will be Mrs. Lawrence (Joyce) Klemetson,
Curtiss, who has been employed there five years. Also honored was Clarence
Dolan, who retired as postmaster after serving in that capacity for 32 years. A
former Abbotsford president, Al Notbohm of Chelsea, was also honored that day,
his 92nd birthday. The band also played a number for Mr. and Mrs. Art Langteau,
who retired from the Corral Bar.
