Jantsch, Mary (24 Jun 1972)
Holy Spirit Chapel in Berkeley, California was the setting for the marriage of
Miss Mary Jantsch, formerly of Dorchester, to Louie Barranco, Oakland,
California. The Rev. Anthony Wilhelm officiated at the 8 p.m. ceremony held June
24, 1972.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William Jantsch of Dorchester and Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Barranco, Oakland.
For her day the bride wore an ankle length white cotton embroidered “peasant”
gown, which she made herself. It was styled with a raised waist and long puffed
sleeves. A short veil was attached to a headpiece made of embroidered fabric
bow.
Sister Barbaraina Jantsch, Theresa, Wis., the bride’s sister, was maid of honor.
She wore a gown sewn by the bride of blue, turquoise and orchid print on white
background gown styled the same as the bride.
A reception was held in the church hall. A dance followed.
The bride is a 1962 graduate of Dorchester High School and the UW-Madison, where
she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics in 1966. She took
her internship for hospital dietetics in the Seattle, Washington hospitals, and
is currently working as a dietician at the Highland Hospital in Oakland. Her
husband is also employed at Oakland.
The couple is making their home at 958 Bay View Avenue, Oakland.
