Announcement is made of the engagement of Miss Joyce Zarda, daughter of Mrs.
Jeanette Zarda, 311 Seventh Street, Wausau, to Ken Kops, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Leroy Kops, Colby.
Miss Zarda, a 1971 graduate of Wausau East High School, works in the Wausau
Public Library. Her fiancé, a 1970 graduate of Colby High School, is employed as
an announcer and production manager at WLAU Radio Station, Grand Rapids,
Michigan.
An April 7, 1973 wedding is planned.

Miss Joyce Zarda, the daughter of Mrs. Jeanette Zarda, Wausau, became the bride
of Ken Kops, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Kops of Colby in a 2:30 p.m. ceremony
performed Saturday, October 28, 1972 by the Rev. John Krasowski if St. Michael
Church at Wausau.
Given in marriage by her mother, the bride approached the altar wearing a floor
length gown of crocheted white lace with matching train veil. The molded empire
bodice featured a high collar, which was trimmed with Venice flora braid. The
Victorian sleeves had ruffled cuffs edged with braid and trimmed with satin bows
with pearl centers.
The illusion veil was secured to a crocheted lace Camelot headpiece. She carried
a colonial bouquet of yellow roses, white daisies accented with baby’s breath
and rose petals in streamer ribbons.
Miss Vici Scheidemann, Wausau, was the maid of honor. Chosen for bridesmaids
were Miss Sharon Zarda, Mrs. Gerald Seliger, Miss Shelley Arps and Miss Peggy
Kohl. Miss Sandy Kops was the miniature bride.
The miad of honor was attired in a moss green saki designed with a fitted
bodice, which was centered with a bib of white Venice lace with scalloped edge.
The full skirt was of white circled floral print on moss green background. She
carried a bouquet of moss green daisies.
The bridesmaids wore identically styled dresses in purple, and each attendant
wore a picture hat of tulle ribbon braid. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of
purple daisies.
Best man was Steve Kops, Colby, and groomsmen were Richard Zarda, Gerald Seliger,
Wausau, Larry Oemichen, Colby, and Bruce Heikkinen, Wausau. Ring bearer was Tod
Ludzinski, and ushers were Mike and Jim Kops.
A dinner was held at St. Mary’s in Marathon and a reception and dance at Poplar
Tree, Marathon.
The bride is a 1971 graduate of Wausau East High School, and was employed at the
Wausau Public Library. Her husband, a radio announce in Grand Rapids, Michigan,
is a 1970 graduate of Colby High School.
The couple is making their home at Grand Rapids.
