Ernst, Teresa A. (21 July 1953 – 17 July 2021)

Teresa A. (Moss) Ernst, 67 of rural Stanley, died unexpectedly, on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

She was born on July 21, 1953, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of the late Clarence and Anna (Helland) Moss. Teresa grew up in Cornell, Thorp, and Wausau where she graduated from Wausau West High School. She married Gary Ernst on February 6, 1982, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Thorp. The couple lived in Stanley and were dairy farmers until they retired in 2015.

She especially enjoyed large family get-togethers and spending time with her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, and their kids. She loved her brothers and sisters dearly and tried to be there for them whenever she could. Her hobbies included, making pies (best pie crust ever), jam, decorating for the holidays, shopping, and gardening.

When she was a little girl Teresa was in an accident that caused her to become legally blind. She had many struggles in life, however, she overcame these struggles to start and raise a family while working beside her husband on the family farm and all the while consistently instilling sound values and compassion for others in her kids.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Gary, her three sons, Aaron (Amy) Moss of Wausau, Andrew (Amber) Ernst and Chester Ernst both of Stanley, 5 grandchildren, Justin Moss, Maggie Mishall, Jacob Moss, Mitchell Moss and Viola Ernst, her siblings, Roland and Ronald Moss and Rita Mravik all of Medford, Diane (John) Laager of Thorp, Wanda (Duane) Smith of Thorp, Cynthia (Harry) Johnson
of Greenwood, Lona (Pat) Rothenbach of Bruce and Angela Moss of Minnesota. Her sisters-in-law Marlene Maynard, Minnesota and Sharon (Jerome) Reigel Florida and Brother-in-law Richard (Irene) Ernst, Oklahoma. And her dog Rusty.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her niece, Brenda Laager and her brothers-in-law Joseph Mravik and Stark Maynard.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 3 P.M. at the Plombon Funeral Home-Stanley with Rev. Darrel Diers officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 P.M. on Friday afternoon.
