A number of area students have been named to the Dean’s honor list at the various campuses of the University of Wisconsin.

At UW-Eau Claire they include: Carol Mantik, Kathleen Schilling, Dale Buchholz, Glenda Carlson, Kare Jensen and Annette Schiferl, all of Abbotsford; James Umhoefer, Mary Schwartz, Arlene Dommer, Donna Lamont, Barbara Meyer, Joyce Tessmer, Rebecca Bluhm, Gordon Knight, Mary Lamont, Ann Umhoefer and Suzanne Zuber, all of Colby; Karen Zimmerman, Route 1, Unity, and Carlin Koffarnus and Jon Strassburger, both of Route 1, Curtiss.

At UW-La Crosse is Tonnie Miller, Colby.

At UW-River Falls is Delores Mielke, Edgar.

At UW- Stevens Point is Chester Pawlowicz, Colby.

A UW-Stevens Point student from Colby has been named to the 28 member summer theatre company, which is responsible for staging four plays during July in the school’s Fine Arts Center. Miss Susan Birkett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Birkett of Route 1, Colby is on the technical crew and will serve as the costume assistant. She is a 1969 graduate of Colby High School.
