Owens, Carol J. (9 Jul 1937 – 23 Jul 2021)
Carol J. Owens, age 84, of Withee, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at the
Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen.
Carol was born on July 9, 1937, the daughter of Walter and Esther (Beyer) Rienke
in Thorp. She was united in marriage to Pierce Owens, Jr. on September 18, 1954,
at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorp. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2013.
Together they farmed south of Withee. She also worked for 18 years as a Nurse’s
Aide at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center.
Carol enjoyed traveling after retirement, including Australia, Alaska, Hawaii,
Germany, Holland and other countries in Europe. She also liked tending her
flowers and plants and making crafts. Most importantly, Carol loved and
cherished her family.
Carol is survived by her three children: Virginia (Steve) Winscher of Mondovi,
Lisa (Kevin) Molitor of Owen and Mark (Glynis) Owens of Laneville, TX; a
son-in-law, Richard Severson of Loyal; eight grandchildren and 22
great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pierce; three daughters:
Linda Ohde, June Severson and infant daughter, Brenda; three brothers and two
sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Pastor Ray Rogers will officiate.
Interment to be held at Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Family and friends are
welcome from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27 and from 9:00 a.m. on
Wednesday all at the funeral home.
