Scharpf, George T. (25 May 1947 - 18 July 2021) With Flag
George T. Scharpf, age 74, of Lublin, passed away on Sunday, July 18,2021 at his
home.
George was born May 25, 1947, in Milwaukee, to Jacob and Ruth (Yates) Scharpf.
He graduated in 1966 from Lakeland High School in Minocqua. George was a Veteran
of the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Marlene Mehlberg on
January 31, 1999, in Withee. George was an over the road truck driver and later
drove taxi for many years.
George enjoyed hunting, fishing, polka dancing and camping. Most importantly,
George cherished by his family and friends.
George is survived by his fiancé, Norma Thiele and a sister-in-law, Barb
Scharpf.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Jacob and Ruth and a brother, James
Henry Scharpf.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30 at the
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Military Honors to follow provided by
Lublin American Legion Post #547, Owen American Legion Post #123 and the
Owen-Withee Vets Club. Family and friends are welcome from 6:00 p.m. until
time-of-service Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later
date in the Oakwood Cemetery in Merrillan.
