Maegdefessel, Ruth (Award - 1978)
A gold emblematic pin has been awarded to Ruth Maegdefessel, Neillsville, by
Royal Neighbors of America, a fraternity benefit society with headquarters in
Rick Island, Illinois, in recognition of her record of serving ten or more years
as recorder of Royal Neighbor Camp No. 78 in Neillsville.
She has served continuously as recorder of Camp 78 since 1958. The award is one
of merit signifying faithful service in behalf of the Society, which provides
life insurance protection and fraternalism for nearly half a million members,
men, women and children.
The attractively designed pin is slightly smaller than a quarter in size. It is
decorated with the emblem of the Society, which is surrounded by a book and
wreath, penetrated by a quill, the latter being significant of the work of the
camp recorder. The inscription “Faithful Service” is above the emblem and the
word “Recorder” is below.
