About 70 persons were present at the second annual reunion of the Malchow family
at Dorchester Recreational Park Saturday. The affair began with a potluck dinner
at noon, followed by afternoon entertainment and a potluck supper.
Those in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Leland Malchow, Augusta, Ga.; Mr. and
Mrs. Warren Sprague, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mr.s David Achten and daughter Kami,
White Bear, Minn.;
Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Rau and Barbara, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Genrich, Leland
Werner and friend, Miss Nancy Mantoure, Miss Jean Malchow, Miss Mary Werner, Mr.
and Mrs. Herbert Werner, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Witt and son Jade, Pat and Mike
Beatty, and Mrs. Walter Werner, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Steven Werner and
family, Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rau and family, Oak Creek;
Walter Malchow and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sprague, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs.
Heber Malchow and Cathy, Antigo; Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Zenker, Park Falls; Mr. and
Mrs. Gay Graffunder, and Harvey Malchow, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hunt,
Colby;
Mrs. Louis Barker, Fred Malchow, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Oehler and Robert Mueller
and sons, Abbotsford; and Miss Ann Rau, Mrs. Alvina Marlow, Mr. and Mrs. George
Rau and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rau and daughters, and James Rau, Dorchester.
Mrs. Herbert Malchow and Cathy were in charge of games and prizes. Mrs. Leland
Malchow received the prize for coming the greatest distance; Mrs. Marlow, the
youngest of the original Malchow family and Walter Malchow, the oldest boy of
the family; Mrs. Walter Werner with the largest new family; Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Werner, parents of twins, and Miss Anna Rau for being the communications
coordinator.
Susan Rau and Kari Werner received prizes in children’s guessing games. Mrs.
Lawrence Genrich was in charge of a “kiddie” fishing pond. Several of the men
played horseshoes.
Gay Graffunder provided music for dancing, and an anniversary waltz was played
for Mr. and Mrs. Hebert Malchow, who 25th wedding anniversary was Monday.
Mrs. Malchow distributed booklets of last year’s reunion. It was decided to hold
another reunion next year at the Dorchester Park on the third Saturday in
August.
