The Mueller – Weller family reunion was held Sunday, August 13, 1972 at the home
of Mrs. Hazel Mueller, Colby. A reunion dinner was served at noon.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter, Wausau, celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, greeted
over 200 guests at the reception held from 2 to 5 p.m. Mrs. Mueller, hostess,
provided the anniversary cake, made in diamond shape and decorated with pink and
white roses, silver bells and topped with an appropriate anniversary ornament.
Attending the celebration were the honored couple’s only child, Miss Shirley
Weller, Chicago, Sister Esther Deuble, Milwaukee, and many friends and relatives
from Chicago, Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Minneapolis, Marshfield, West Salem, Withee,
Owen, Lake Mills, Wausau, Milan, Stratford, Dorchester and other towns in the
surrounding area.
Concluding the day’s events was a supper served at 5 p.m.
Weller is a former resident of Colby, having lived on a farm southeast of town
until 1947, when he moved to Milwaukee to work in construction.
In August of 1947 he married Miss Ellen Hammarland. They moved to Wauwatosa,
where he continued his work in construction until his retirement five yars ago.
Mrs. Weller is a registered nurse and was employed as education director of
nurses at Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee until her retirement three years ago.
They will continue to make their home in Wauwatosa.
