Tioga Reunion (16 September 1978)

Although the community does not exist anymore, that doesn’t stop residents of the former Tioga area from gathering each year for a reunion.

The Tioga Community Days was held at the Tioga Inn on September 3 this year, featuring various gun competitions and prize drawings.

Donating prizes this year were Eddie Sickenberger, Stoughton, a television; Frank Hedemark, Rock Dam, a fish wine bottle; Jim Barr, Rock Dam, a bedpost wine bottle; and Margaret Bolluck, Chili, a camel neck wine bottle.

Winners in the duck and rabbit shoot were Cecil Steffin, Bill Keuser, John Bayuk, Pat Herrick and Danny Oelheren.

The twelve-man shoot-off for a goose was won by Mike Ruzic.

Volunteers working on the shooting detail was Lawrence Artac, who bulldozed a protective bank; Ronald Hribar, who snow fenced an area for safety; and Bill Owens and Ludwig Hribar inspected rifles.

In the old-time shoot -off Bob Boyer took first, Ludwig Hribar was in second and Ernie Arch was in third.

Winners in horse-shoe competition were Delmain Toburen, Ivan Ruzic and John Wildish.

Active on the food committee were Janice Hribar, Eldray North, and Diane Wildish. Carol Toburen handled the donation awards. Bartenders were Vic Halbrader and Elma Hribar while Lee LaMarr and Marvin Boyer took care of the straw.
