Schmidt, Arlyne (19 Aug 1972)

Mosinee will be the future home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Charles Frane, who were married Saturday, August 19, 1972 at a 2 p.m. ceremony performed by the Rev. Emil Hodnik at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Arlyne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reubin Schmidt, Abbotsford, and Thomas is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Frane, Curtiss.

The bride appeared in a floor length gown of nylon organza over peau designed with an A-line skirt that extended into a full cathedral length train. The bodice of Chantilly lace had a modified scoop neck with a wedding band collar and short puffed sleeves with wide cuffs. An Alencon lace profile styled headpiece with pearl and crystal trim, to which a two tier elbow length veil was secured, completed her attire. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and pink carnations.

Miss Mavis Schmidt, Milwaukee, served her sister as maid of honor, and another sister, Miss Roberta Schmidt, Abbotsford, and the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Barbara Frane, Curtiss, were bridesmaids.

They were attired in floor length gowns of white dotted Swiss over cotillion in blue peau styled with softly gathered skirts. The bodices featured illusion necklines with a stand up collar outlined with daisy lace trim and short puffed sleeves.

Straw picture hats completed their ensembles and each carried a small white lace parasol filled with delphinium blue carnations and baby’s breath.

Other members of the bridal party were Allen Gordee, Eau Claire, friend of the groom, who served as best man, and Dave Frane, Curtiss, brother of the groom, and the groom’s friend, Douglas Lloyd of Spencer, were groomsmen.

A reception, dinner and dance followed the ceremony at the Corral Room at the Colby Hotel in Colby.

The bride attended NCTI, where she was enrolled in the advanced nursing program, and will be employed as a graduate nurse at Wausau. Her husband also attended NCTI and is a welder at Drott Mfg. in Wausau.
