The Colby Chamber of Commerce, recognizing the plight and dire need of Marian and Mike Wilson, has unanimously agreed to pilot a fund raising campaign on their behalf.

The Wilson are well known in this area, Marian being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Potts, who are lifelong residents of this vicinity. The Wilson now live at the Green Acres Terrace Mobile Home Court.

Marian developed kidney ailment in 1963. During the years she has been in numerous hospital and clinics in an effort to regain her health and live a normal life. However, her condition has grown progressively worse. In February of this year she received her first of many dialysis treatments, and is now awaiting a kidney donation for a transplant.

It is realized that Marian’s medical expenses, and those which are to come, have place and will continue to place an insurmountable financial burden on Marian and her husband Mike, as well as on her parents. With this though in mind, the Colby Chamber of Commerce has made arrangements for a benefit dance, the entire proceeds of which will be for the Wilsons.

The dance is to be held on November 5th at the Rue Burnett bus garage, which is located on West Adams Street near the Colby High School. The building is heated. Howie Sturtz will provide the music. Tickets will be available at most area merchants.

Any donations will be most welcome and cane be made by sending them to the Colby Chamber of Commerce.
