Wenzel, Miss (9 Sep 1972)

After a honeymoon trip to Mackinac Island, Mr. and Mrs. William Goessl, who exchanged vows at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester, on Saturday, September 8, 1972, will be making their home at Greenwood.

Parents of the couple are Mrs. Phyllis Wenzel, Withee and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Goessl, of Curtiss.

The Rev. Gerald Schuh officiated at the 1:30 p.m. ceremony. Noel Barteck, soloist, accompanied by Linda Lueddecke of Dorchester provided the music.

For her day the bride chose a floor length white cotton lace gown of empire styling. The bodice featured a high neckline and long sleeves. She carried a bouquet of three white roses and small mums, which were tinted to match the colors of the bridesmaids gowns.

Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Mrs. Dale Bower, Anoka, Minn., and bridesmaids were Miss Linda Johnson, Withee, Miss Carla Montag, Mankato, Minn., Miss Carolyn Kaz, Marshfield, Miss Judy Haegul, Kenosha, and the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Cathy Kuranda, Curtiss. The miniature bride was Kimberly Bower, Anoka.

The bridesmaids wore flocked floor length gowns of a different color, in lilac, yellow, green, apricot, blue and pink. Each carried a giant mum tinted to match her dress.

Serving as best man was Kenneth Larson, Withee, and groomsmen were Richard Goessl, Withee, Gary Engel, Menomonee Falls, Tom Frane, Mosinee, James Schiszik, Curtiss, and James Feldbrugge, Abbotsford. The ring bearer was Paul Woltmann of Mazomanie, Wis.

Following the ceremony a reception, buffet dinner and dance were held at Memorial Hall in Dorchester.

The bride is a 1971 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, and attended the Kenosha Technical School. Her husband is also a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, and is employed as a plumber in Greenwood.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were from Dayton, Anoka, Mankato, Appleton, Amherst, Kenosha, Mazomanie, Athens, Marshfield, Wausau, Schofield, Menasha, cedar Grove, Fond du Lac, Tomahawk, Milwaukee, and Mosinee.
