The first services in the newly remodeled Peace United Church of Christ
congregation were held at 10:45 Sunday. The building has undergone almost
complete remodeling and redecorating, and an addition built on, during the
summer months. This work started following the last services held on Mother’s
Day in May, which was also Confirmation Day for the young people.
The interior of the old building has a new floor and new carpeting, and has been
painted and redecorated. This was all done by parishioners. The addition
includes a combination room and Sunday School room, and also two rest rooms. The
steps into the building are also enclosed.
A pot luck dinner followed the services on Sunday as a get-together and social
meeting for all who gave of their time to make the improvements. A formal
dedication will be held at a later date. Lloyd Carlson is president of the
church council.
