Vornholt, Marie (28 October 1978)

After a wedding trip to the Eagle River area, the new Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Stanley have chosen to make rural Granton their home. The couple was married last Saturday afternoon, during 2:00 p.m. ceremonies, officiated by the Rev. Gary Clark, at the Neillsville United Church of Christ.

The bride, Marie, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vornholt, 117 Hewett St., Neillsville, while the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Stanley, Rt. 4 Neillsville.

With the father of the bride giving her away, the bride chose a white full-length lace-trimmed gown, complete with fingertip veil, and carrying a bouquet of red roses.

Nancy Van Gorden, Neillsville, served as maid of honor. Completing the bridal party were Diane Havlicek and Shirley Stanley, both of Neillsville, and Laurie Bixby, Granton. They were attired in red satin gowns, trimmed with white lace. Each carried three long stemmed white roses.

Tom Jensen, Mineral Point, was the bestman and was joined by Steve Walters and Jeff Eibergen, both of Granton, and Mark Vornholt, Omro. Ushering wee John Vornholt and James Bartell.

Vocal selections were offered by Mae Peters, accompanied by Deon Spangler.

A reception and dance was held at the Bali-Hai Supper Club, rural Neillsville, following the wedding.

The bride is a 1977 graduate of Neillsville High School and from St. Joseph’s School of Histotechnology, Marshfield, in 1978. She is employed as a histotechnician at Wedge’s Creek Research Farm, rural Neillsville. The groom is a 1974 graduate of Granton High School and is employed as a livestock dealer.
