VandeBerg, John (3 March 1914 - 25 October 1978)
Funeral services were held last Saturday in Beaver Dam for John VandeBerg, 68,
who passed away October 25, after a series of strokes.
VandeBerg was born on March 3, 1914, in Chicago to Alvin and Julia (Ziemba)
VandeBerg. He moved with his parents to the Town of York in Clark County. He
married Guyla Lee of the Granton area and the couple farmed prior to their move
to Beaver Dam where he worked as a coast-to-coast semi driver. Approximately 18
months ago, the couple moved to Kingsbury, Calif., to be near their daughter’s
family. VandeBerg suffered a stroke in August 1976 and was in a Beaver Dam
hospital for many weeks. He never fully recovered.
Surviving is his wife, a daughter, Joanne. And a son, Alvin, who is stationed
with the U.S. Navy in Calif., three brothers, Chester of Forest Park, Ill.,
Clifford of Seattle, Wash., and Howard of Fair Oaks, Calif., three
grandchildren, an aunt, Ruth Maegdefessel, Neillsville, many cousins and other
relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell VandeBerg and Mrs. Maegdefessel, of Neillsville, attended
the funeral services.
