Sladich, Jeanne Marie (28 October 1978)
Rural Granton will be the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Strey, who were married
Saturday afternoon, October 28, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. The
bride Jeanne Marie Sladich, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ignatz Sladich, Rt.
2 Greenwood. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Strey, Rt. 1 Granton.
The bride was given away by her father in the 1:30 p.m. ceremony officiated by
Father Chester Osowski, with musical accompaniment by soloist Patty Martens and
organist Rita Stewart.
The bride wore a chapel train gown of chiffon over taffeta, enhanced with
re-embroidered Alencon lace n the empire bodice, a portrait neckline and Bishop
style sleeves. A Juliet cap of Alencon lace secured her pearl-edged lace-appliqued
veil, which was of waltz length. She caried a bouquet of red roses and baby’s
breath.
Selected as matron of honor was Ruth Erickson, Spencer. She was joined in the
bride’s party by Becky Thering, Reedsburg, Janet Strong, Eau Claire, and Mary
Sladich, Neillsville. They wore full-length red dresses of organza over taffeta
featuring high necklines, Bishop sleeves, fitted waistlines and white lace
bodices. The skirts were A-line with hemline ruffles. They carried bouquets of
red carnations and baby’s breath.
Dennis Erickson, Spencer, was bestman. Groomsmen were Dale Smrecek and Jerome
Sladich, both of Greenwood, and Gary Anderson, Marshfield. Ushers were Michael
Sladich and Daniel Strey.
After the ceremony dinner was held in the church hall, followed by a reception
and dance at the Greenwood American Legion Hall.
The groom who was educated in Loyal, is employed by Wisconsin Homes in
Marshfield. The bride is a 1977 graduate of UW-Eau Claire and is an input error
corrections clerk at the Marshfield Clinic. The couple will travel through the
southern states before making their home at Rt. 1 Granton.
