Schwellenbach, William H. (2 June 1892 – 5 November 1978)
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church,
Neillsville, for William H. Schwellenbach, 86, of Neillsville. He died in
Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Sunday, after a lingering illness.
He was born on June 2, 1892, in the Town of Weston to Joseph and Theresa (Prock)
Schwellenbach. After his early education, he farmed in the Town of Weston for
many years. It was during that time he married Elva Seif in April 14, 1914,
Neillsville ceremonies. The couple moved to Neillsville, and he worked for the
Ford garage, the Neillsville Condensary and the B&F Machine Shop before
retiring.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Arnold J. of Eau Claire, Clyde W. of
Durand and August “Wallace” of Beloit; one daughter, Mrs. Myron (Ione) Clark,
Beloit; one half-sister, Mrs. Ollie (Margaret) Schmidt, Loyal; one half-brother,
Roland Schwellenbach, Medford; twelve grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two brothers and one sister.
The funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Joseph Henseler, was followed by
burial in the parish cemetery. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
