Hoeft, Mr. and Mrs. Ray (40th – 12 November 1978)
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bender and girls of Loyal were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Lucien Moh, Sunday, Later, all attended the 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Hoeft at the Loyal Legion Hall.
A 40th wedding anniversary was held Sunday afternoon at the Loyal Legion Hall
for Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hoeft. A three-tier anniversary cake, decorated in red,
adorned the reception and supper table.
The honored couple were married in Kiel on November 12, 1938. Attendants for the
couple were Al Gartcki, Kiel, and Mrs. Donald Ronk, Shiocton. They moved shortly
thereafter to Granton and have lived here 40 years.
Mr. Hoeft served two terms on the village board of Granton and was director of
Granton Fire Department for more than 35 years.
The couple are members of Zion Lutheran Church and Ray served approximately 20
years on the church council, including president at the time the new church was
built in 1958. He is a charter member of the Granton Rotary Club, which was
organized in 1943, and has held several offices.
They have three children, Mrs. Marie Hanson of Marshfield, William of Granton
and Nancy (Mrs. Dale Braatz), Stevens Point, and four grandchildren.
Ray and Esther (Wagenknecht) hunt, fish and travel.
They received many lovely gifts and cash.
Besides from the surrounding area, guests came from Beaver Dam, Chetek, Dumall
Claire, Kiel and Shiocton.
