Chet and Anna Knight have sold the Deep Rock Service Station to Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Karsten. Because of his health, Knight is retiring as of December 1,
1972.
He was employed at the station, known as Thomson Oil Co. for 37 years, and
operated it himself for the past 18 years. Mr. and Mrs. Knight plan to do some
traveling.
They have a daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Roy, and family at Laurel Bay, South
Carolina, and a son Douglas, in the Navy at Pensacola, Florida. Their other son,
Gordon, lives in Colby.
The Knights have 40 acres of land on Copper River, northwest of Merrill, and
plan to spend some time there also.
Karsten, who resides at 202 South First Street, Abbotsford, had been employed at
Wilderness Campers, Unity prior to purchasing the station.
