Sell, Jennifer Ann (11 Nov 1972)
Miss Jennifer Ann Sell, daughter of Mrs. Lorraine Sell, Wausau, became the bride
of Clifford H. Sauer, Schofield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hebert Sauer of Colby, on
November 11, 1972 at a 3 p.m. ceremony performed by the Rev. Donald Dinsmore at
the First Methodist Church in Wausau.
For her day the bride chose a floor length velvet gown with matching mantilla
train veil. The gown was styled with a molded empire bodice with high collar of
Venice lace and bishop sleeves that were appliqued with lace and edged with
Venice beading. The train veil was secured to a small circular pillbox headpiece
bordered with Venice lace.
She carried a crescent shaped bouquet of red roses, baby’s breath, miniature
Fuji mums with greens.
The bride’s sister, Miss Diane Sell, was the maid of honor, and bridesmaids were
Zoa Abel, Wausau, and Barbara Mickoleski, also of Wausau.
The bridal attendants were attired in two-toned formals designed with a contour
shaped empire bodice of rouge velvet, ruffled V-neckline, and long tapered
sleeves which had ruffled cuffs. A velvet bow centered the waistline at front
and back. The shirred skirts of pink Dacron were detailed with ruffled panels
and had a wife ruffled flounce. Each carried a single pink mum tied with a pink
ribbon.
Other members of the wedding party were Randall Miller, Dorchester, serving as
best man, and Walter Sell, Wausau, the bride’s brother, and Roger Sauer, Colby,
brother of the groom.
Performing ushering duties were Frank Mickoleski, Les Laub, Nick Kleparski,
Unity, and John Johnson, Dorchester.
Following the ceremony a reception and dance were held at the American Legion
Golf Club in Wausau.
The bride is a 1970 graduate of Wausau East High School, and is employed as a
medical assistant at Wausau. Her husband is a 1969 graduate of Colby High
School, and a 1971 graduate of North Central Tech at Wausau. He is presently
employed as an automotive machinist at Wausau Crankshaft.
The couple is making their home at 930 Town Line Road in Wausau.
People from the Colby area who attended the wedding were the bridegroom’s sister
and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Kleparski and daughter Michelle of Unity, his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Loos, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Loos, Darrel Loos
and Jan Bachmayer and his children Jane and Tommy of Marathon.
Local people attending were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Underwood, Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn
Edblom, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Becker, Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Schraufnagel, Colby,
and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Barts Jr., Abbotsford.
