Miller, Martha (4 Aug 1890 – 28 Nov 1972)
Funeral services were held Friday, December 1, 1972 at United Church of Christ,
Colby, for Martha Miller, 82, Abbotsford, who died Tuesday, November 28, 1972 at
the “Our Lady of Good Council” Convalescent Home in St. Paul.
The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated, with burial in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller, the former Martha Trester, was born August 4, 1890 in the Town of
Mayville (Clark Co.). On April 13, 1911 she married Ernest Miller at Curtiss. He
died April 5, 1957.
She farmed with her husband in the town of Colby until they retired in March of
1942. She lived in Colby until November of 1968, when she moved into the Green
Vista at Abbotsford.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Ladies Guild, VFW Auxiliary,
and senior citizens.
Survivors include five children, Lester of Abbotsford; Edward, Minneapolis;
Clarence, Loyal; Ray, Duluth, and Mrs. Ray (Louise) Schmidt, Minneapolis.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Anna Lipprandt, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Helen
Pallnow, Hartford, and a brother, John of Milwaukee. Nine grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren also survive.
A brother and sister preceded her in death.
