Ploog, Ervin C. (25 June 1930 – 16 August 2021)
Ervin C. Ploog, 91, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at House
of the Dove, Marshfield.
Ervin was born on June 25, 1930, in the Town of Washburn, Clark County to Henry
C. and Lilie (Niemann) Ploog. He worked at Weinbrenner for 54 years from March
13, 1947, until he retired on June 29, 2001. He was a member of the Knights of
Columbus. Erv loved biking, hunting, camping, and watching birds and wildlife.
He is survived by his wife, Jan, 3 sons and 4 daughters: Linda (Guy Hendrickson)
Egner of Marshfield, David (Shirley) Egner of Marshfield, Bill (Cindie) Ploog of
Michigan, Jean (Blake) Marsh of Rice Lake, Laure (Pete) Kaiser of Marshfield,
Lisa Delis (Dean Schmitz) of Granton, and Dean Delis of St. Louis, 7
grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Mary Rose Fellenz and
Elizabeth Schlagenhaft-Egner, sisters; Betty in infancy, Anna Schnabel, Wilma
Boulieu, brothers; Fred, Roy, Ralph, Virgil in infancy, Elmer and Harry Ploog.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 20,
2021, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, where a visitation will be from
9:30 a.m. until service time. The service will be live streamed at
www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Rev. James Weighner will officiate. Burial
will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Dean Schmitz, Pete Kaiser, Brandon Wein,
Steven Ploog, and Ronald Boulieu will serve as pallbearers. Rembs Funeral Home
is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ervin’s name to St. John’s Catholic
Church.
