New M-D-Memor9ial Hospital (1979)
Administration of Neillsville Memorial Hospital announced this week that a new
surgeon has joined the staff. Dr. Frederico P. Gregario began seeing patients
and assisting Dr. N.R. Capati in the operating room this past Monday.
The new staff member was educated in the Philippines and has practiced medicine
in the United States for the past eight years. He interned at Mesericordia
Hospital, Philadelphia, Penn., and was a resident surgeon at Mercy Catholic
Medical Center, Darby, Penn. Since 1967, he practiced surgery in New Town,
Penn., working long hours in the emergency room.
Because of an overload of patients in the hospital and Neillsville Clinic,
another doctor was a necessity, said Dr. N.R. Capati, chief of surgery. He added
that Gregario will work as a general practitioner as well as a surgeon.
“After a week of orientation, I will begin operating by myself; Dr. Capati and I
will take different days in the operating room,” Gregario said. “As a result,
the turn-over of patients will be more efficient,” he added. Capati and Gregario,
will also be working together in the operating room.
Dr. Gregario has passed one part of his American Board of Surgeons exam and
plans on taking the oral portion in the future.
Dr. Gregario’s wife Fe, and two children, Erwin, 9 and Ivee, 10, will join him
in Neillsville by mid-July. The Gregarios have a rented home on Fifth Street.
The new physician joins Drs. N. R. and Anna Capati, Reddy Gungor, Neelagaru and
Manz. Administrator of the hospital is John Bergemann.
