Anderson, Axel G. (24 Jun 1898 – 2 Feb 1973)
Axel G. Anderson, 74, Route 3, Stanley, died Friday afternoon at his daughter’s
home in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mr. Anderson was born June 24, 1898 in the Town of Thorp, and farmed there all
his life. He married Kathryn Nothon, November 12, 1919 in Arkansas. He was a
member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, and former Town of Thorp
Treasurer for 27 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale, Stanley; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Arvilla)
Southeland, Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Emil, Albany, Oregon, and Henry, Owen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Services were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in
Stanley, with the Reverend Joseph Marx officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s
Cemetery.
