Allen Teter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Teter, Route 1, Owen, and a senior at
Loyal High School, won the Seventh District American Legion Oratorical Contest
Saturday, February 3, 1973 at Onalaska.
Allen, speaking on the rights of individuals, represented Clark County, and was
chosen the best of six contestants. Other competitors were Paula Ritchy, Adams
High School, Adams County; Christine Silva, La Crosse Aquinas High School, La
Cross County; John Turkelson, Black River Falls High School, Jackson County;
Pamela Barnes, New Lisbon High School, Juneau County, and Julie Parr, Viroqua
High School, Vernon County.
Allen will now be one of three contestants in the state regional event at Cross
Plains on February 25, 1973.
