Massachusetts Prize Winning Quilt (1979)

The Clark County Historical Society will be displaying an award-winning National Cranberry Quilt, to be shipped from Massachusetts, May 1, and which is expected to arrive May 5. The quilt is made up of quilt patches selected from a nation-wide contest of embroidery and applique designs relating to the cranberry industry. (Clark County has a cranberry producer in the south-western part.)

Sewing as the inspiration for a quilt show, response has been good and numerous quilts being offered for display from May 1 through May 18.

The Cranberry Quilt will be taken to the Rural Museum at Colby for the final weekend of the display, May 19-20, after making its initial appearance at Clark County’s Fair Arts Museum in Neillsville.

The show will be open to the public from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. from May 5 through May 18. Reservations for group or club tours in the forenoon may be made by writing to Ella Stucki, Rt. 2, Box 70, Neillsville, WI 54456. Those wishing to display quilts may send a card or letter with a description to Society, Rt. 2, Loyal, WI 54446.
